Decaling some PRR boxcars

Sometimes you work on something just because. I dont model the PRR. The X29 and X31 are too new for my 1920 New Haven interest. But I have the cars and the decals and rule number 1 can always be applied. I got these Fine N Scale cars years ago in one of my ebay lot scores. I decided to get some decals on them today just to be doing something.

One is supposed to be as delivered in PRR NK3 scheme. The second is in the first keystone scheme. The third is in an even later merchandise scheme.

One of the things that makes the as delivered scheme and my other old decal jobs hard is the lack of decals that old cars had that are the brake equipment descriptions like these

Anyone know of decals that have this type of car data on them?

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

If you care to get in touch with me I can get individual decals done even to the extent of your pictures at 3 and 4 if that is what you are after.
I live in Australia and costs are very competitive.

Yeah, but it won't help much.  Walthers used to have some very old data in N scale decals, and probably had lettering similar, if not exactly the same, as your car.

If you'll settle for dry transfers, Clover House probably has something useful.  They have sets for cars older than yours, so there should be one that will work.

Won't help much? I suspect that Al is offering to custom print that lettering as a decal.

Perhaps nkalanga was responding directly to the OP's question "Anyone know of decals..." and was not addressing Alwyn.

Perhaps, but it wasn't clear. Some further clarification (like quoting the post or a pertinent part of a post in the response) would have made the response unambiguous.

Not to undercut Al's offer. But, check Clover House. They offer a lot of old time dry transfers. Perhaps they may have something.

Hi Al,

I would be interested in some of the brake detail decals if you print them.

Al

Thanks for the offer. What would you require to put this together?

Did some X31s today. They are much simpler decal wise.

I think @Specter3 might be able to provide the link.

Is that an Pennsylvania X23 boxcar on the left in the first picture?

Yes. They are both broken in different ways. They are castings, but are assembled very different from the x29 and x31.
I have not tossed them as I keep thinking I can somehow piece in the missing chunks.
