Doesn't look like a depot, more like a shop area with that overhead crane, but we'll take it.

Thanks , I took German in HS but the teacher was sooooo hot and dressed like a quasi dominatrix I couldn't learn but a few things such as how to gawk and not be caught too much .

My HS German teacher was decidedly not so...  We used to refer to her as Frau Cow behind her back.  Aber sie war ein guter Lehrer, der an der Universität Heidelberg studierte.  Und so erinnere ich mich noch einmal Deutsch noch 25 Jahre später.

Heh. My HS German teacher was a nice guy who was a total slacker teaching German I. I suspect the lack of actual teaching was due to personal problems, up to and including dating one of my (...also very hot!...) classmates.

In this case the caption is Dutch. I don't speak it, but know it when I see it - double vowel articles like "een" and "aan" are a strong clue. I have a recent local musician friend from The Netherlands who's not quite comfortable with English yet, and slips into Dutch when excited. He is also a Märklin enthusiast, and transforms into a giddy little kid when he visits the layout.

All that being said it is kinda sad to see a woman with a child having to go to those lengths just to wash clothes when we sit here and contemplate what the next loco will be on our shopping list.

The CSX Hanover Subdivision welcome 2 new locomotives to the roster this week.  TRW's own @MRLX1020 painted and decaled these for me.  These will give me added push to get back to working on the layout and running trains again.  Pictures show them waiting in the Hagerstown Yard to be picked up, in tow on D797, set off at Porters Sideling doing an air/brake test with their train, and crossing Main St at the PHG paper mill where they will do most of their work.

One definition of "depot" is "a place for the maintenance of military or naval equipment".  By extension, a railway maintenance facility could be considered a "depot", although I haven't seen the term used that way in the US.

"Remise" didn't translate all that well, "depot" was one of the possibilities per one site, so I went with it. Another I just found is "coach house", supposedly an obsolete usage. So I suppose in this context it could be "engine house", which makes a little more sense. I'll try to recall this thread next time I see my Dutch friend.

This week I completed all remaining trackwork and related chores on my layout. Which led to being able to finally finish the bridge abutments.More in the layout engineering forum..

Started detail work on my roundhouse. Added a walk way around the whisker tracks and got some oily black down. Next will be adding the steam lines to the outside tracks. And, I am trying to decide what to do with the turntable pit. I am not happy with the weird radial factory "weathering".  -- and, I have a lot of work to do on this entire scene.

Slow progress...cut up a test wall for Nelson station and did my best to match the colours with readily available Tamiya rattle can colours.

I finally cut the layout's edge of the table, which gives me up to 12" of more room in the aisle.  The layout is now rolled back into its place.  Back to the track installation!
