The 2017 Cascades Daylight excursion train all aerial footage led by 4449 on the first day. Lots of pacing in this video!!!

This is Part 1 of 2 and all footage of the first day heading to Bend. Part 2 is the return trip to Portland.

This video hosts a plethora of locations including tunnels, bridges, and pacing! All throughout the Oregon Trunk line. All locations are in order of the actual chase throughout the day.

Please feel free to share this around!

Music by Loscil and all rights are reserved to Loscil. I do not claim to own any rights and give Loscil full credit as such.

For more awesome aerial railroad footage please subscribe and enjoy!

Instead of "Not my video" you should have said it was from YouTube instead of leaving us guessing where it was from

Why the diesel helper?

A couple reasons but most importantly for head end power for the mostly Amtrak coaches and lesser for protection in the event of mechanical failure.

I'm not sure if recording from a drone that the sound would be all that great.
I think you'd get a lot of the drone prop sound and not as much of the subject when at various heights and distances.
