Mounting a horn with 2 pins is trickier.

Yes, but I found a way around it. I take a piece of Scotch Tape (or similar) and put it over the holes on a Kato cab for example, go over the tape with a pencil or tooth pick. Take off the tape and you'll see two spots on the tape where the holes were. Put the tape on the model where you want the two holes drilled. Take a needle or similar and mark the two holes thru the tape on the model. Drill the two holes.

What type of horn did you use, a standard Kato thingy?

Good idea.
The delryn horns are tougher.

Also, going by memory....  I think the pins on those horns are a #76 drill bit.

Got a care package from Pete today.

He has such attention to detail.
There were several variations of decals.

Of course the tricky one was the one for the pilots.  I liked having the option of scale and unreadable, or slightly overscale but readable.





I'll be honest.... it was hard to trim those tiny decals.  This macro shot looks like there's tons of room to spare.... but not really.



And with that, my model is done.

And @peteski , love the idea of the legend on the decal sheet.  I wish Microscale would do something like that.

That looks great Ron!  Nice!  I'm glad that you liked the decals.
I figured that I should include all 3 sizes of the pilot warning labels for you.  Looks like you did go for the largest (but mostly readable version).  That is pretty much the smallest size lettering Alps can print. I drew those letters pixel-by-pixel.    They are 5 pixels high (at 600dpi) or 0.0083" high. That comes out to scale 1.3" letters.

I also gave a choice of gray or clear background.
I have those decals available for sale - PM me for more info.

I think we already did this few pages back but I like to again nominate this thread for the "best-of". That and Ron's other threads (like the incredible EP-2 thread). But for some reason the moderators are not very eager to do this.

I should add that Pete's fire extinguisher decals are better than mine which were kitbashed from a CN set.
By the time I found out he was doing them, mine were already on and sealed.

Yes, do that as well but the horns can come lose on the wire and start to turn while the ones mounted with two holes are rigid and don't mind being manhandled

No adhesive that I have tried works well enough on POM (Delrin) plastic to make a structurally-strong joint.
