I think that if a poll is created each member can only vote once.  But you don't know who voted.

That would work if I limited the absentee voting to The Railwire forum.  However, I have opened the absentee voting on multiple forums and two Yahoo Groups.  I know most people will only vote once, but since the voting has been so close some years, I really need to make sure everyone does vote only once.  In 2006 we had a tie for first place, and the third place finisher was only one vote shy of making it a three-way tie for first.

So how many people are voting for a model because it fits in their era, they bought it, or it's a fave prototype; versus how many people are voting for a model because it is of exceptional quality or promotes a development in N scale vehicle modeling as a whole?


I'm torn. Showcase Miniatures and Trainworx are both cranking out high quality models I can use. Though Trainworx is taking it to another level with not only completeness of its assembled and kit releases (windows!), but the parts availability that makes customizing even non-Trainworx models so freaking easy and enjoyable. But I'm having trouble voting for actual models that are 30+ years out of my era.
