png's work fine for me.

 :?

Jason

I got it figured out, and I think that all photo links in this thread have been fixed.  The problem was not the .png type of file, as you noted.  Instead, it ended up being the file names that caused the problem.  The four screenshots had symbols, e.g. % symbols, in the file name.  Since nothing else worked, e.g., uploads of the .png files or converting .png files to .jpg files, I changed the file names and it worked.  I have no idea why I even thought to do that, but I'm not complaining.

Dave, you should think about some sort of selector plate at the top of the hill. Either a slider plate or a pivot plate. This way you won't waste space with a turnout ladder.

@Chris333,

Looking at the issue further and messing around with AnyRail, I'm becoming more concerned about the lengths of those tracks.  I won't really know until I have the opportunity to lay it out with real track pieces, but, at the cost of the Peco three-way turnouts ($46.99 each!), I think I may reconsider the idea of using a sector plate at the other end of the yard!

If I do this, I would want three tracks: one track for the inbound cars; the second track for outbound cars; and the third track as a runaround.  The sector plate would be one Geep long with a pivot to allow access to all three tracks.  By eliminating the second three-way turnout and a stub for the locomotive to clear the points, this probably would add at least one car to the capacity of each track, getting my goal of a three- or four-car length yard tracks.

Yeah, but I lose my runaround.  Also, I think it will be more stable, if I am not sliding the cars around.  My thinking is that it would work better for my purpose, if just the locomotive slides on the sector plate, unless I'm missing something.

Looks like about 48" x 10".  The shelf will be approximately 40" x 10", and I estimate the the curved track ends approximately 8" before it reaches the table's edge.

Sh!t just got real, yo!

With my wife's help this time, I'll do a better job of modeling springtime, so it doesn't look like fall.  :facepalm:

A question Dave, did your supertrees comes with a sample pack of super leaf and matte medium ?  My previous boxes did, but one I bought today had neither.

@mu26aeh,

In addition to the two new boxes of SuperTrees, I've also got two open boxes left over from the last layout.  I checked the old boxes first: one did include a sample pack of SuperLeaf and a batch of matte medium; the other did not.  Sadly, neither of the two new boxes included any free goodies.  :(

Ok, thought maybe someone swiped it out of box or something.  Guess they just can't give out 3 trees worth of ground up plastic and a couple ounces of glue.  No biggie, I don't dip the trees anyway, still have medium bags from last 2-3 boxes in my workbench.

Thanks for verifying !  :D

Terraforming has begun!  Last night, I glued down some scrap 2" foam in this corner of the layout to form the beginnings of a cut through which the track runs.  This afternoon, I cut, sanded, smoothed, and applied lightweight spackling to the hill.  My goal, like it was on the Seaboard Central 2.0, is to have very few "flat areas," much like the real world.  I think this makes scenes look more realistic and the layout seem larger.

greetings, Dave...
i continue to find your modeling interesting and well done
when i look at your photos, several complimentary words come to mind
but the one that seems to always be there is "precision"
your design, track laying, scenery and application of resource are always so precise
thanks for sharing
sincerely
