@glakedylan (Gary),

I supposedly got mine from MinuteMan Scale Models, but I haven’t yet confirmed it’s actually in stock.  Their website let me place the order, but I’m not holding my breath.  I’ve already had one order in the last few weeks be cancelled by a vendor, so I’ll let you know.  The order was confirmed, but that clearly was the automated response upon placing the order.

DFF

Well they own Scalecoat, so if anyone has it in stock it’s going to be them.

I didn't know that.  I got lucky then.  We'll see what they can ship this week.

Ah ha, so your road is going to be blacktop on top of concrete, what with the concrete gutters by the curbs of the sidewalks.
Lots of opportunities to add tar filled cracks now. 😁

I don't know that it's blacktop over concrete.  The gutters are poured concrete, and the asphalt is paved up to them.  There are definitely cracks in the asphalt, but it doesn't appear to have tar in the cracks.  That has me thinking that now I wish that I had carved cracks in the asphalt (I did carve cracks on the sidewalks) before I painted the styrene.

@Vince P,

It's funny that you noticed those cracks in that structure, too.  The problem is that I model Aberdeen in the mid-1980s, and I haven't found really good pictures of this street from that time period.  Were those cracks there then?  What colors were the buildings then?  This is part of the reason that I haven't finished the buildings to date (the other reason is that I'm the world's laziest modeler).

No Dave not Lazy just a Procrastinator like myself lol.

Chasing detailed info in times past will make you do bad things like pull out your hair Bud hehehehe.

Followed your n scale now following your ho'ing around couldn't resist.

My layout I'm getting ready to build is set in West Virginia and the videos I have are from the late 80's there's a couple of towns that have internally collapsed but the building walls are still standing but.

Were they that way in the fall of 1979 or were they still intact.

Like you tracing down info like that crack or my building is not easy.

Good luck with our searches lol.

Maybe contact the city and see if they can lead you to info on the buildings cracks.

The Seaboard Central took delivery of former Burlington Northern GP9 No. 1700 (nee Northern Pacific No. 200) this evening.

The plan is to patch this Geep for the Seaboard Central, and it will retain its BN road number.  I've got all sorts of decals and paint on order, so this project will have to wait.

Here's the weathering inspiration: http://pnwr.qstation.org/BNTribute/NP/GP9_With_Dyanmics/BN_1700.html

It's as though that Geep retired, moved to a location with a warmer climate and found a part-time job.

That's a heady challenge Dave.  I'm looking forward to seeing it play out.  👍🏼
