Where'd you get the late 60s looking tractor?

Working on a small town, midwestern grocery store. I have fond childhood memories of going to the Red Owl to buy supplies for weekend trips to my Grandparents cabin in Northern Wisconsin. Still need to add window treatments and a hanging sign out front.

You are correct sir; there should be chains on the two wagons on each end of the car........yea, I'll have to look around to see if I can find something small enough that will look correct.

I'v used small scale link ship modeling chain - think the stuff used for anchors on 1:700 scale war ships.

Denise and I took a trip to the Dallas area to buy some furniture for our home in Coastal Alabama last week...was able to somewhat quench our Tex-Mex food desires, but was also able to stop by the Frisco 'Museum of the American Railroad'. Even though the museum was closed on Tuesday, Robert Willis drove from his home in Mansfield and met us there; He gave us a private walking tour, with particular emphasis on my particular favorite piece in the collection. He is the ramrod on repairing and restoring the ATSF 59L...and has already done an amazing amount of work with the advice and assistance of Doyle McCormack up in Oregon.
 Can't begin to state how excited I am to see this iconic piece of American Railroading in an environment that really gives it a great chance to be returned to it's full glory!

Thanks, it is just a few pieces of brass wire bent to shape the supports and the awning is paper I printed on my printer. After I bent and glued it in place with tacky glue, I sprayed it with clear sealer and it sagged and wrinkled a little. I didn't expect it to do that but I like the effect. On fancier buildings, you could customize the awnings with the name of the building or business printed on them.

Is this going to be static display or operating?  I note that the internals are missing.  Is this because they are off for rebuilding?   Did not All Tramps Sent Free put send their PAs back to ALCo to have 251s installed in place of the underachieving 244s?

no...they did not...only the very first set, 51, was re-engined with an EMD product...all the rest remained ALCO powered through their service lives (I can't vouch for the other two that remain in Mexico.
It is very much hoped that this loco will be operable, similar to it's sister in Oregon...it all depends on funding.

Nice! We used to go to Antigo (from Merrill) to visit my Dads cousin. It was always fascinating to me because of the old depot and railroad stuff there.

Not sure xactley the location of the Red Owl we went to, was either Wausau (which I think was called Hal's) or it might have been Tomahawk, if they had one. Cabin was near Tomahawk. Grandma and Grandpa were old school, so it didn't have electricity and had an old fashion outhouse, even into the 1980's! Going to build a model of it sometime, as well.

The City Terminal had a visitor this weekend! Imagine the list of a rail barge with this guy on it! I had stalled out on my Potomac project last summer.  I had been trying to put the shell on a Bachmann J mechanism but it just wasn't working.  I used the Bachmann sale at Trainworld as an excuse to pick up one of the updated Bachmann Northerns.  This drive will require some tweaking in terms of performance, but all of the major dimensions are essentially spot on!  I plan to modify the valve gear and replace the cylinders with a pair from Kato.  The best part is that the shell practically dropped on!  This was the first time that I thought this project could actually come to fruition as I initially visualized it.  I've damaged a few parts over the past few months trying to make the J mechanism work, I'll replace those and then on to plumbing!  Can't Wait!
