Assuming that only one of the wheelsets is powered by the Diesel motor (because if both wheelsets were powered there would ne no need for siderods), and the siderods drive the other axle, then the forces involved would be the same as for a steam loco.  90 deg.  apart.

Yes, they're quartered/90° apart just like steam locomotives.  I have photos of both sides of the same loco (Davenport coincidentally) and they're 90° apart side to side.

LOL!  But I also sometimes have problems with reading comprehension.  So, what kind of drive did you use under that loco?  :D

It is like when I'm in the drive-thru and say "I'd like a #1 with a Coke". OK and what would you like to drink with that.  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Depending on the platform, the descriptions aren't always visible or obvious.

Most of my Youtube viewing is done on my TV, and I don't think there's even a way to see more than the title there. But of course, I also can't post comments either. So who knows.

So you admit there are shortcomings to "mobile platforms"  :P

Doesn't look like much, but this is the chassis for my railbus. There are 2 1/16" tungsten rods glued into slots of the 3D printed chassis. All they do is keep the frame straight since there will be a shaft running through it. Used capillary tubing where the lay shaft goes through the resin as a bearing.

And this is the motor sitting there. It is from a Bachmann HOn30 Rusty (Thomas).

It only ends up being a 43:1 gear ratio so if it runs too fast I will have to add another stage of spur gears. Plenty of room for that.

Another day another dollar...

The 1889 Porter catalog calls this a "Light Back Truck Locomotive".

Clever drive design for the rail bus...the new small motors make something like this possible. Nice work Chris!
Love the Porter kettle, too.
