You need to whack the porch with a hammer.

Haha!  It’s funny, cuz it’s true.

Nice! Don’t forget to add the bell 🔔 to the peak of the roof.

And dump a lot of dirt on it.

So Scenic Express wanted $35 to ship a big box of Super Trees and ain't nobody got time for that. They are 2 hours away so I drove there today. They don't have a store, but you can go to their warehouse and shop. This isn't my video, but shows you what's inside:

They had large tubs (like for Christmas decorations) full of ground foam. I joked and asked if they had enough and the guys asked if I was "in the back" yet. They had 4x8 tables set up with product spread all over it to dry. They had large garbage cans full of ballast and foam grinding machines that looked like cement mixers. Very large bags full of raw foam chunks. It was pretty cool, but the drive sucked. Rained the whole way. Coming home I drove through Pittsburgh and right when I got downtown it was pouring heavy. I could barely see the car in front of me and that is saying something because 90% of the time the cars were stopped dead. Traffic was standing and the rain was so heavy I couldn't even see across the river to site-see.

But I got my trees. Here are about 20 of them drying.

The tall trees at the end of the backdrop sort of hide my jewel case collection  :|

OF COURSE THEY LET THE HIGH PRIEST IN THE TEMPLE

I only got to stare at the door. I think there's a photo somewhere.

Been working on this for a while now. Getting close to finished. Still need a headlight lens (I just paid $10 shipping for it   ) boiler braces, cab glass, and a coal load.

Started as a Model Power 2-6-0 and this is all I used from it:

Chris,

The engine looks great and looks like it runs quite well also.  Do you plan to put sound in it?

Scott
There's a prototype for everything.
If you can't make it perfect, make it adjustable.
DCC is not plug-n-play.

So here's the thing. I like sound, but hate DCC. Just a few days ago I bought another Model Power 2-6-0 with factory sound. Sound wasn't the greatest so I replaced the speaker. After that the bell and the chuff were very-very quiet with the rest of the sounds at full volume. Did all the resets and turned them all up. It is like a channel blew on the decoder.

I'm done with DCC  :D

So I might get a Kato Soundbox instead and mount speakers on the ceiling above the layout. I have a Climax, Heisler, and some tiny locos that would never fit sound.

So yeah I hope to have sound, just wish I could play with a Soundbox before I bought it.

So across from the feed mill I want a building. Started off with a small Walthers kit that I shortened and changed all the windows on, but for some reason I didn't like it

Then earlier this year at a show I saw an old kit from "The Structure Company" called York's Store. Opened it up and it was basically a sheet of wood with paper plans to make templates. Well I tossed all of that and just used the plans in the kit to scratch build the whole building is styrene. I will use the window and door castings. And I did use the roofing material that came with the kit. Seriously someone needs to just sell old kit plans/instructions... :|

I like this much better:
