March 2017 RMC Wuttter?

In the March 2017 RMC there an article by Wutter on modelling a Rock Island commuter F-7.  Great modelling is great modelling regardless of scale. Other than seeing the model at BAPM, it was not until I saw the 60- numbers for the Microscale  Decals did I realize it was N.

Wutter also has some really great detail parts on Shapeways

Have always liked these units... wonder if he might share a photo or two...

Would it help if we said, "Please!"

Saw this in an earlier post a week or two ago. Hopefully he may post a couple more for us.  ;)

Slightly different series of Rock Island F7, but to make my cooling coils I used 26 or 28 gauge magnet wire and bent it into the switchback shape and made the standoffs lifting it off the roof from 0.010 stainless wire. The copper wire used the make the cooling coil makes bending it a lot easier, and you can set the shape once you're done by just applying some CA on the backside.

Thanks guys!

I really wanted this one to be the intro/header image but I guess they didn't like it as much as I did. My only issue with the current image is that the F7 looks weirdly compressed at an angle  :|

I think the problem might be the perspective - if you make this image into 600x100 pixels you are vertically cutting off a large portion of the train.

Even in this one, the loco is cropped by quite a bit.

Maybe if those images were rotated before cropping that would do the trick?

Shame on me indeed  but I didn't have any other finished modules with wood ties so it was the best I could do apart from the fall trees module used in the Quad Cities Rocket article.

I think to be true to the Rock Island you need to forego the ties all together and just have the rails sinking into the dirt...
