What kind of wood did you end up purchasing, Dave?  That cart looks like it's loaded with some decent quality wood.  I ended up using mostly poplar, because the white pine in stock at several home centers near my home was atrocious when I started construction of my layout.

It’s pine except the 2x2 which are cedar.  I’m using the pre-primed stuff because I plan to paint the benchwork (not the fascia) white and it was straighter than the other crap.

Seems like a good call to me.

I'm confident that what I'll build will be sufficiently sturdy and level...unprototypically so, LOL.   :D

If you haven't been, Foxworth-Galbraith on Nevada is open to the public and may have a better selection of good boards.

Remind me again which brackets you are using? And screwed to the studs I presume?

I've had trouble finding the longer ones in the quantities I needed so I just did a bulk mail order.  But yes, the shelving in my garage uses the same brackets (shorter) and I got them at Home Depot.

Dave - This is going to be awesome. Was the previous an exercise for this, or will it be incorporated into the new plan?

I think you mean the little 1x3 photo module that I built. No, I’m not going to incorporate that into the big layout. I’m going to continue to use that if I need to take outdoor photos for lighting.

No playa, the former layout you were building. I could've missed it.

Not tracking.  I haven't been building another layout.  Unless you mean a former version of the trackplan.

I'm more-or-less doing this one:

Or unless you mean the Colorado Midland in N scale.  That one's pretty much done.
