Worked the BANTRAK layout at the B&O Museum today, and it was great fun to stretch the legs out on the McGrattan train.

Also ran some revenue cars, a coal mine turn, in the process of exchanging empties for loads...

Lunch break brought the crew to one of the local establishments, where they met up with the Penn Central crew.

I really liked this scene.

Looks like Chessie the Knife has done in the competition.

The festivities all took place under the watchful eye of a stoic observer...

I finally got around to decaling one of the FGE 5145s I got from David.

Nice to see one out in the wild.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Trying to use selective focus on a Galaxy S5

Half the time it can't detect far and near, but will kindly only focus on one or the other  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Huh?
And what exactly is wrong with that photo?  It looks pretty damn good to me (for a photo taken without using focus stacking).  It is in good focus from the foreground to the background.

That photo is, but the 15-20 I took could not find far and near. This is how it works when it does:

That place is so hawt, the steps are floating  :D   Is that a Santa Fe maintenance truck chasing that PC GP40? Good thing with all the deferred maintenance on the PC  :D  :scared:

Ah, now I get it. You original post (to me) seemed to indicate that you were unhappy with the photo you posted, but that was the best you could get.  Adding "That photo is, but the 15-20 I took could not find far and near." instantly clarifies the situation.

Or "After 15-20 unsuccessful attempts of the smart phone camera focusing incorrectly, it finally produced this good photo".   :)

I think you just need 2-3 feet between focus areas for it to work. Other tries were a closer shot where it couldn't detect areas.

So is this some in-camera focus-stacking feature? It takes 3 photos focused on different areas then it combines them automatically?

I spent some time soldering and casting a pile of 0402 ditch lights. It's tedious work but I have a backlog of locos waiting for them. Not anymore!!!
