Can't attend what you don't hear about
http://pennsyrr.com/index.php/model-railroad-open-house
Not as easy to navigate as the original open house website but functional.

During the first weekend, @R L Smith, Phil Peters and myself were open, all within an hours drive of each other, only had 6 visitors.  And probably same 6 people.  A group of 4, and a group of 2.

Your comments on Rick's comments would be directed at me for one (no offense taken). First two weekends I was out of the area completely and this past weekend, just not interested in making the effort to visit any. One of the things is there seem to be few "new" ones on the calendar, or the number of layouts being upgraded year after year (like yours) is limited.

Some "hosters" in my group were open and had one session well attended and one that was quiet. And those guys are not too far from Ken McCorry's and were open one weekend with him. That usually generates traffic in the area, but not so this time, although Rick and Linda Spano trekked over from NJ and did grace one of my friend's layouts.

An RS11 collects a stray car from Harold Yard......
].....and leaves town with it and a few caboose as the property is being abandoned....

Can you elaborate on the abandonment? Has the process you mentioned a couple months back gotten underway?

Wow. I guess we should be thankful considering who you work for, that you're not recovering from rocket science!

I've been working on some projects worth sharing, although they aren't N scale. This is my P4 (1:76) layout set in London c.1903.
I've been laying the setts in the yard and working on a locomotive kit. I wasn't happy with the body on the kit, so I've been scratch building a new body for it.

Today I bought myself a model (HO) of the second class car that I rode in for 12hrs from Sofia, Bulgaria to Bucharest, Romania. 240 Romanian Lei, so around $56.

Was that $56 the price of the train ticket or the model?  :D

The model cost almost double what my train ticket cost.
