I hesitate to ask... What is wrong with GP30 fans?
Yeah, but Richie has a good point. Some people would want sound as if they are riding the locomotive that they are controlling. In a perfect world, perhaps Richie's dream sound project could have an option to switch to railfan mode for those who want the sound as if trackside. That would be pretty cool to have the sound through ear buds where it wouldn't disturb others.DFF
You're right While I personally would love one(ok at least 5), I find it a little less likely than the others! It fits either the RS1 or GP7/9 chassis if anyone is game to make the shell!I am also surprised Atlas has not given us MEC U25BS, I know the phase is wrong, but the same is true for all B&M GP9s... In both cases nobody makes the correct version...( I still can't tell the difference between U25B phases anyway, with geeps it is more obvious to me)
And while we are wishing I wouldn't mind seeing phase 3 RS-3's
The biggest detail for MEC U25Bs is since they were phase IV they had two piece windshields and more of a slope up the nose to the windshield. I personally would upgrade my entire U25B fleet if a phase IV shell was available. I also would like a U18B, and would sign up for the buy the fleet option for the ten unit MEC set.Phase 3 GP-9s would be nice to see, and GT/CN/CV GP-9s with the Canadian style handrail ends. And while we are wishing I wouldn't mind seeing phase 3 RS-3's , GP40-2W/Ls, and new runs of RS-18s and an RS18u.
Don't forget the MEC U18B that was rebuilt with a U25B nose...http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2643067
I bet it's an N scale GG1. I mean, practically everyone else is doing them. Personally, I'd like to see some competition in the children's novelty shoe dept. Or a Rolling Thunder and Lightning setup where they flash occurs before the boom.
Oh, and I still want Seaboard Coast Line U36B #1776 in N scale (which Atlas is supposed to be releasing in HO in the fourth quarter of 2016). They've already got the research and artwork done, so . . . DFF
I addressed that in the other part of my post you didn't quote: for that kind of experience a 1:1 cab simulator would be perfect (not a puny N scale loco). That way you get the full experience of the full-range sound and the appropriate visuals (full-scale loco interior). For a full-range sound experience outside of the loco (trackside) you would have to go and stand next to a 1:1 running loco (not some 5" model on a layout). Or do you have a good enough of an imagination that a full sound seems realistic when the item which is supposed to be generating that sound is N-scale?
