SF Special in SD

I managed to get some good shots of a BNSF Special in Downtown San Diego last Friday (10/14/16) while on a bike ride, only to accidentally delete them from my new cell phone.

Went back Sunday - the train was still there but the sun wasn't!

Does anyone know when the "porch" on TOPEKA was enclosed?

Really clean power

I think you may be seeing things.  Or I may be seeing things.

Photo search says between 2006 and 2007.

BNSF closed off all the open platforms. Think it was a safety thing, but could be wrong.

Looking at several pix of the Santa Fe Topeka #51 don't think the BNSF Topeka one is the same car/
