Glad no new freight cars will be harmed the coming year.

Good luck with $230 F units.  :o

Depends if they can pull them off... Both the Intermountain and Kato ones have shape issues... I really with the Athearn/Highliner F7 was a N scale model...

Anyone else notice the features for the T1 mention "Equipped with full sound, smoke and Rolling ThunderTM for DC and DCC"

I wonder if this was just copied from the HO model description or will the N scale version really include smoke?

I wish BLI would bring back their On30 D&RGW C-16 2-8-0s.  Would be cool if they expanded their On30 line.  In the meantime I'll take a T1.   :D

I wonder too as the catalog also mentions smoke for one of the modern details in the description. Neither model lists it in the bullet point features though.  :( Would that be a first for n scale?

No, Rowa had a smoking Y6B 2-8-8-2 in the early 1970s.

Is there a .pdf version?  The above link leads to a virtual catalogue that is on huge pain in the @$$#@+ to navigate...

The link given was a "Sneak Preview" for Facebook fans. A printed copy is forthcoming and probably a PDF version also.

Am I the only one NOT holding my breath, they'll be here when?

No delivery dates were listed in the catalog so sometime in the next 10 years is a reasonable assumption.

IM's F7's and F3's with ESU LokSound are list prices at $239.95 so BLI is in the ballpark for with sound.

In having to scroll through the whole catalog to get to the N scale section I noticed that most employees seem either grandparent age or mention small kids in their bios.  So in that context the shoes make sense to me.  If I had these when I was four I'd probably like them.

I wish they'd do that E1.

Just read the fine print on the F units.

"All-wheel electrical pickup"
"Equipped with traction tires"

How would that even work?

Nope. German manufacturers (like Arnold) have produced smoke-equipped European steam models years ago.

To me smoke is just a cute gimmick. The smoke meanders through the air like smoke from a cigarette sitting on an ashtray. To make smoke look real it woudl have to puff like real locos do. This is done in H0 scale with a small fan in the smoke box, but probably not feasible in N scale.

I'm up in the air about the PRR F3/F7 offering.  Same reason. I have some IM F7's ordered in PRR but who knows when they will show up.  They will have LokSound decoders which is what I want. I could consider the BLI F's if they came decoderless so I could put LokSounds in them

And yet another GG1... Kato, Bachmann and now BLI

And Arnold!   http://www.spookshow.net/loco/gg1.html

Noticed that the F3/7 sets are that the A is powered and the B is unpowered with different road # that the single A's & B's. I say break up the A/B set so the buyer has the option to buy powered A/A, A/B/A and not a unnecessary dummy B unit.

But Intermountain's success isn't pinned to that top dollar price as they have other options.

I will say I get nostalgic thinking about an A-B-B-A lashup where three units have traction tires and one is unpowered.   :)
