Quilt Batting for Groundcover Base

I ran across this you tube video the other evening, while scoping out scenery how-tos. It intrigued me enough to purchase a roll of the low-loft stuff for $5. It has a real similar appearance to polyfiber, probably the same stuff. I think it also looks nearly identical to static grass when glued to the layout. I have yet to try it first hand, but looks like it would hold additional static grass and ground foam really well. I'd like to at least try it on some of my slopes to help hold foam in place. Has anyone else tried this?

I didn't see a good shot of the stuff itself. Can you share some of your experiments?
I'm always looking for good new ground textures, especially stuff that replicates underbrush and leafless bushes.

Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Ed - At this point, I've only taken a 4" x 4" square and dry fit it on my layout.  Nothing glued down as of yet.  I will say, that it seems to lay down well and fit contours nicely.  I'm curious to try out my make-shift static grass applicator on it to see if it pulls the polyfiber strands upward to replicate grass.  As my layout proceeds, I'll be sure to post updates and photos of the experiment.

How to lay down the batting is actually shown in this video

Looks like a good method giving you a nice rough texture. I need to try this.

Ed, may be something like this??:

It will take some time/time consuming comparing with the technique/method shown on the vid. besides that you need a static "Gunn" to add the many different  grassfibres

yes I can but give me some time...I hope it won't t turns out to be a long walk....;-)
At least 7 layers of fibres and some dirt/fine turf are involved....and the preparation of the roots of buxus sempervirens....

Not quite as good as this guy .. but I tried this variation ..

The video is quite crude, and was not meant for a wide audience

and this is the end result ..
