Quite striking indeed.  I'm really looking forward to trying these out.  For me, the jury is out until I can compare them head to head with the LEZ couplers and the etched pockets, which I'm still very happy with.  The LEZ coupler has the distinct advantage of being compatible with other N couplers, while being close to scale size.  The MTL True-Scale has the advantage of being from MTL.

Feel free to append to that thread.  After all, it is still a work in progress.  :)

I'm wondering if these will fit in the etched pockets which can go many more places than a 1015 box.

BLW is one place http://www.blwnscale.com/mt-trucks-couplers.htm

I also ordered from BLW but my order has not shipped yet, as far as I know.  :(

I suspect they pockets might be a bit large, and the holes might not be in quite the right place for the short shank version.  But I will be finding out soon ;)

I'm pretty sure they will arrive with the standard October releases shipment (IIRC, around the 15th of the month).

NSS for me. They received their October release shipment yesterday and shipped my order today, so I should see them Saturday. For grins I also got a conversion car; not as if I couldn't do one of my own. Hell... I still have the Rapido-to-Kadee car I did in 1970... and actually know where it is. :scared:

NSS is showing mine shipped yesterday, while MBK/MTS is not showing them at all on its website, yet.

MBK generally posts the MTL monthly releases on the 2nd Saturday of every month.

Is there a height gauge for these? Or at least a recommendation of the height they should be set at?

The instructions that come with the coupler state "The draft gear box is the same basic dimension as the 1015 body mount...".   So I am assuming that the same height gage used for the 1015's will work with the true scale couplers.  Someone please correct me if this is wrong.

They were post around 8pm Pacific time, and just checking, just after midnight, the 10 packs of short shanks are down to less than 4 packs remaining.

I was about to order a 10 pack, but couldn't find anything else to throw in the cart to make shipping worth it. I'll just wait and in the meantime MTL can get more made.  :)
