I'm sure MTL will paint these for plenty of roads that are "close 'nuff", as the MTL single window coach will be the only game in town as far as injection molded goes.

For me, I would be happy to use the NYC or similar car as a stand-in for an N&W PG class:

Yeah true. I'll probably end up painting them myself, but really there must 20,000 Bachmann N&W J's out there with nothing to pull behind them.

Wow... hadn't realized just how close to the Burlington prototype these cars actually were.  Different rivet detail but not that different after all... may have to consider this for my freelanced roads as well though I know I will be kitbashing a couple of the new Atlas cars to create some 60' cars for branchline service.

Well, its been a busy two days for me since the last post was offered and I hope that this will help MT to choose the NYC prototype for their single-windowed coach.  I have compiled a roster for all known roads that had cars like or similar to the NYC cars and it is extensive.  Thousands of these cars were employed by eastern roads representing a huge number of cars that saw use.  Nine roads operated these cars, two secondhand because of a merger or second-purchase.  For anyone interested here is the link...
