Dang, I lost some respect points. Now I won't be able to cash them in for.....Oh wait, they're just a number with no real world value.. :P

Personally,I like to judge people by their modeling, not their opinions or respect points.

OK, fine, to be positive these cars do come with a brake hose.

The more I look at pictures of this car the more annoyed I get.  I kinda feel like our whole scale has just been trolled.

I think it sucks that members here cannot give  their honest view of something (without bashing anything or anybody and without trolling) without someone who simply disagrees to to take away that persons respect points. Just because somebody thinks that some model is the worse they have seen (and provide detailed reasoning), that is their opinion - why should someone ding them for that?  To me that is bullcrap!

There are really only a few circumstances around which I can see using the downvote.  Giving a qualified opinion doesn't seem like one of them.

...... So I'm thinking about 'taking one for the team' and purchasing one of these things and seeing what I can do to make it somewhat easy on the eyes..

Contrary to my posts.. I do love the idea of the car, and having a 'Mooing train car'.. To the extent of the 'Moo's  If the cows in the decoder are anything like the cows down the street from my house.. it sounds close enough to me... They get pretty lively.. and they are just standing there eating (or whatever it is cows do when they moo)..

I'll see if the LHS still has one and keep you updated..

For the North East guys.. If I'm modeling New York Central Niagara Falls-Rochester Trains.. should I be looking for Hogs or Cows?

Ha!  More than one can play that game!     :D

I think that "respect" is a poor choice of description for the rating.   That rating is more of a popularity rating.  To me respect and popularity are totally different things, and what happens here is more a popularity voting than respect.

I'm glad you brought this up. The railwire has jumped the shark imo and has become a neutered fan boy club. All this pc crap sucks. Everything has to smell like roses. No dissenting or negative opinions here. Someone has gone and changed most of the -1 votes back to 0 I noticed, so I see it's totally bogus. I don't really care, because if I have something positive or negative to say, I'll say it in a post. And won't hide behind some anonymous bs ranking system.  I say ditch the respect o' meter, it reminds me of BLI's pre reservation meter for the M1 a couple of years ago.  Which totally sucked. :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Have a nice day! I did.  :D :D :D :D

Points schmoints.... :P

I understand why some don't like negative opinions. Every model was someones baby. Someone went through a lot of trouble to bring that model to hobby stores.

But, I don't see evidence of that here. The model seems to look more like the christmas tree ornament shown than an actual model. To me,it wreaks of "N scalers will buy anything". What is surprising is that this is the same company who made the M1s, which look great and seem to be well liked. But, those took over 10 years to get to market. Again, maybe it really does take 10 years for BLI to "nail it".

FWIW, I asked my old lady(who isn't into trains) if she knew what a stock car was. Her reply-"Aren't those the see through ones?"...Without the see through slats, the car just looks like a regular boxcar.

I am curious if the car can be made to look more "in scale".Open slats, a new roofwalk, and new ladders would be a huge improvement.

Interestingly, their Facebook page makes no mention of these cars at all, whereas usually they feature their new models right away. They must not have wanted all the negative feedback on their page, and I think it was a wise decision on their part. That tells me they anticipated some negative feedback, so they must know this car isn't great.

Actually I think he was referring to giving me a downvote for expressing my opinion. On a discussion forum

Edit.I was wrong.I'll go up-vote to try to make up for it.

...... So I'm thinking about 'taking one for the team' and purchasing one of these things and seeing what I can do to make it somewhat easy on the eyes..

Well.. leap taken.. called the LSH and secured a CNW moo car..   Then I told my wife what was going on.. and she said "that's cool" what animals...

Me: Cow, Pig, Mule...

Wife: Pig sounds???

Me:.. I ordered a Cow.. do you want pigs or cows?.

Wife:.. Can't we get both?...

Me: Yeah we can get both...

So Milwaukee Oink car and CNW Moo car are on hold for this project..

And that's how they sell.. :)

Maybe someone can come up with a " The Railwire " , or " Bitch and Moan " business car with a sound board shouting out all the complaints we UDDER . The yellow is wrong , the ride height is too high , the ballast is too big , the rivets are huge , etc . I would buy that car or sound board if the words were plainly clear through the air to the naked ear .

The wife's idea.. not mine..

If we can come up with a ghost sound car for her Cemetery Central Train then that'd be sweet!.
