2016 NSE Convention in Overland Park (Kansas City) KS — news

besides all the posting of the new items here at the show my favorite part is meeting all the rail wire guys here at the convention. Last night after dinner we got a good group together in the lobby bar and chatted for a bit. Present was Bryan Bussey (NHaven), Jim Costello, Mal Risby, Steve Walker (3 from down under), Marc and Hans Starman (from the Neatherlands), Dirk Warvel (Germany), Chuck Short(Cali) and myself(ATSF). An international meeting of some great modelers and good conversation, after it broke up, Jim Costello and I spoke about his large New Haven layout (in Austraila!!!which I got to visit last year) and possible operations at his New Haven passenger station. The layout is all code 55 and all turnouts are hand built with a 4 track main line and both throats into the passenger station one which is on a curve!!!!!!!  GREAT TIMES GUYS, THANKS. Ooh, weren't the WP's flexis Mark III?  And did TTX ever do brown in these cars?

Yep, the WP's were Mark III's.
They also had one Mark II. It was equipped with steam and signal lines for testing on Zephyr.
I hope that Pat will consider doing these in their next run.

Didn't some other railroads use the same Flex-Van equipment the NYC did? Like MILW?

Western Pacific used them.

The Flexi-Van VTTX flats and the NSK fuel foilers are looking good. Got decals to do the BN impacks, and well close enough.

Parents live near Pitt, sounds like a good time to take the kids to Pitt and see the grandparents
