Looks like I found the prototype...

American Flyer HO scale from the 1960s...~Ian

Hmm... at least the stirrups
aren't filled in...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.
"It works! It works!"

So single window coach from Atlas because MTL just won't do it.
\
Those O scale coaches aren't single window, unless I'm seeing double. And the N are supposed to be shrunk down copies of those.
The  wait for the SWC in N goes on!

Well, some interesting announcements from this one and possibly some interesting next week. Looks like things maybe shaping up quite nicely in N. Wonder what dribbles Bachman will in Indy?

Also mentioned this morning by Rich (for BLI) was the already known AC6000CW and operating water tower shipping this year (I thought he said).

Definitely was hard to hear at times what was being said.

  • Atlas — BLMA inventory of parts will be available; ...

Any mention of how soon? The supply of available BLMA detail parts is really thin at the moment. :(

The Atlas '73 Ford F100 will find a home here.  My 1974 farmers could use something newer than the WS truck.  Crops and prices have been good the last couple years, and it's time to invest in some new vehicles, to see them through the inevitable poorer times to come.  In farming, the poorer times ALWAYS come, sooner or later.

One could have a solid stock car, if one modeled the NP.  Model a Pig Palace car with the shutters closed.

Lots of great stuff. My acquisition budget is seriously deficient. Heck, '70's ford pickups were all over Baton Rouge when I was growing up - you still see a ton of them comin into town for the rural parishes. And those Trainworx truck kits - hubba hubba.

John, glad you had a good time at your first convention. Jon Percy has a neat and great operating layout, glad you guys got to run on it. It was fun being your conductor and you handled the train well. Hope you continue to have fun while states side and a safe trip back down under. Gordon

Mike and I enjoyed our first NSE Convention.  We truly appreciated the hospitality of Dick and his army of volunteers as well as their countless hours spent behind-the-scenes to make the convention successful.  We’re also grateful for everyone who attended.  We made a-lot of new friends and had a-lot of fun.

We’d like to clarify a few things from the manufacturer’s breakfast.
• We’re offering an additional 5% savings for NSE announcement preorders placed by July 29th
o Rivet Counter “Big Blow” Turbine - delivery is expected in November
o New Dry and Reefer Container roadnames are also due this November
• First run of CIMC 53’ Dry and Reefer Containers will be available in August
• We’re announcing an all-new HO locomotive in our Operator and Rivet Counter lines this Friday in Indianapolis
• We plan to unveil two, possibly three N Scale freight cars this year for delivery in 2017
• We’re working-on our first N scale diesel locomotive for announcement and delivery in 2017; it will likely be offered in both our Operator and Rivet Counter brands

We’ll have samples of both the Turbines and Dry & Reefer Containers in Indy.  We hope to see you there!
