What Philip said, but, already, it looks fantastic. Kudos. A big upvote from me!

And be careful to use non-magnet stuff!!!
If you don't, glue it down like a mother f'er.

Thanks for the comments and advice! I'm hitting the thrift stores this weekend for either a used blender or coffee grinder...

Got my scrap pile finished up tonight...
It's made from pencil shavings. I dumped a fair amount into a box and gave them several coats of primer, then sliver paint, shaking and mixing them up between coats. I then glued the shavings to a piece of foam shaped as a small mound. Here's the results:

Big thumbs up on the whole thing- having just passed through the Savannah/Charleston area over summer (and taking a swamp boat tour), I think you nailed the swamp! Just need an N Scale gator or two!

Thanks for the comments, guys!
Spent the weekend building benchwork for an addition, 8' of new space. I hope to have a yard and 2 more industries to switch. Right now, I am think a grain elevator and some kind of tank car unloading area.

I've got the bench work for the addition finished and ready for some 1" foam board.
On a lighter note, I've decided to name this shelf layout the "Port of Savannah," or "POS" for short. That way if it turns out great, or is a flop, either way I have it covered...

Finally got more materials and time to continue the addition. Here's a shot of the future grain elevator:
That’s 1 inch and 1.5 inch PVC pipe cut to a scale 140 feet (10.5 inches). I hope to had an unloading track and a small yard on this end.

Will you get the street trackage in front of the old cotton wharehouses?

I am not sure. I've been researching the G&W and R.J. Corman operations, none of which use the river front trackage. But it's not out of the question...
