You might try a piece of Peco "Code 55" rail with the transition to real Code 55 made by filing off the bottom rail base so it is true Code 55.  This would eliminate the lumps in the module joint which can cause uncoupling and other problems. ....

This seems like good advice. I've used the same approach joining Peco "Code 55" switches to true Code 55 in the past.

I took something D&H and lettered it for another RR

And , in an effort to clean off the workbench to make room for layout-related purposes, I finished these up too(about half of my current loco projects)....And in looking at the pics I see I lost a windshield wiper on the GP-38

I used gouache,thinned with plain water, and pastels....The gouache is nice because if you don't like it, a wet brush will get it mostly off, and you can start over, until you seal it!

And after the coal train made a lap, I fired up Lee's RS2 and did a lap with some Laurel Valley hoppers, because you've gotta honor your roots and know where you came from.



I shot a bunch more video of another test train, but I need to edit it all together, so we'll see when I get around to that...

Also note the hopper car spotted off the turntable lead at the corner of the boilerhouse (obscured by the white  cooling towers), and what appears to be a doodlebug with two coaches behind it behind the gas station.   There does not appar to be a roundhouse, just a turntable.

the turntable was for rollingstock only (not engines)... which is why it is so clean.
it was part of the carshop if I recall correctly.

I'm with you...on all counts.

I lived in Maine (Down East) for a few years in the early '70s, so the MEC is still one of my favorite roads...I remember going to Calias (sp?) and seeing both RS11s parked right next to the saw shop where my Dad was having some repairs made.
