Things have slowed down on the layout, but only to wait for needed parts. The fence has been a pain, as every size of styrene strip I've tried has been too big or too small. I have settled on .080 x .080 for the concrete footings, mostly by buying and waiting for every other size first . I also discovered I also need another package of BLMA wrought iron fence, so that will be a treasure hunt I'm sure. :scared:

I have been working on a few projects though, which can be seen in the pics.

I have been working on a Bergen National Laser Finer Iron and Metal Co, and that has been a long, yet fun, process. This building is well designed, and I will be adding interior lights and basic furniture to the upstairs rooms, so it sits waiting for some parts to be delivered to be finished. I will show you guys once it's done.

I also removed the dump bed from an Athearn dump truck and added a Showcase flatbed. I had no need for the dump body, so this looks more at home on the layout. You can also see some GMM shopping carts I whipped up, man those are some of the finest etchings I've seen...

You can also see a PC flat and a Erie Lackawanna FGE box that I recently began weathering. The EL box will be patched for CR soon...Anywho, the pics...Thanks for looking!

Thanks Brian! You had asked if I needed any pictures, and , well, I do!. I never took any shots of the water in the canal....If you ever get a chance, I would love to see a couple!....No rush, though, the water is ways off yet...

Sure! Ill check it out this week one day after work or maybe this weekend. Its been a few years since I have been down that street. I want to get the cured building from the connection to the yard that crossed Main street before its torn down or burned down!

Yes that is it. I never got the building that was just next to it where the tracks crossed through. I do remember in the 80s the tracks across Main St

I also have this shot of it..If I ever expand the layout to the right I will try to include this structure and hopefully connect to a yard somehow!..I do not currently have enough space :(

Not sure where you live but the canals are drained. I took some shots today with my camera phone, the shots are good. I took some shots of the bridge you model and the what I can I can see.

What was their purpose when built, the canals? They are laid out like city blocks.

I can give you a short answer, which is "water power", but much more info can be found here...

Ah cool. I had transportation in mind and taking a canal one city blocks seemed like overkill.
