There a 12 step program for that.

Step 1 is send all Conrail rolling stock to Phillip H or Ed K.

I've been working on my garage scene some more, but not as much as I would have liked.

There will be a small tree growing out of the pickup truck.

Any comment/critiques?

I really like the whole scene and the idea of the tree....I have to see how you execute that one....very nicely done!
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

It ain't mutual, because I have little to offer at this point, but I admire the two of you.  You deserve each other!

I kinda think that tree is too big, it should be ~5 years old, this looks more like 15-20. I may make another.

Also, I seem to have lost a wheel from a GHQ pickup. Rather than trying to get a spare part, I made a jack. Only problem now is that I think I should include the drum brake

There's an older pickup with a tree growing out of the engine bay on old U.S. 99 just north of Yreka, California.  Or at least it was there seven years ago when I last drove by.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

The bigger the tree, the older and more rusted the truck needs to be. The tree is fine, just make the truck match the age of the tree.

Plus at least 5 more years (nobody abandons brand new vehicle).  :D

It's easy enough to have happen.

Join us... http://www.thecrhs.org/ lol.

But seriously, Conrail was great, largely because it spanned the end of "old time railroading" and the beginning of the modern era. Like 40' boxcars and GP9s? Check. Into widecabs and stacks? Check.

Its why I like BN, I mean how many other class 1 RRs were running F units into the 80s?

Ike:  That's part of the reason I model the BN.  My father worked for the NP, then the BN, and I started seriously considering a prototype about the time of the merger.  At that time, N scale products, and roadnames, were very limited.  With the BN, I had a wide variety of inherited loco models and paint schemes, which made it a lot easier to find something useful.  This one in CB&Q, that one in NP, Walthers had BSB and BN decals, much easier than modeling a road with one paint scheme and a limited roster.  That the GN and NP both kept many of their older units in road service, and the BN continued running them, made it even easier.  The Minitrix Fs were some of the best running models made in the early 70s.
