I agree with Scottl's sentiment on the C424 shot, but this one is a close second.  The Pyle headlight on the geep is killer.  Is that a detail part, or did you gin that up from scratch?

Unlike Europe where the locos have dual cabs (and had them pretty much since the first electrics were introduced over 100 years ago), in North America they still need to turn locos around.  Especially nowadays with all those wide cabs.

My long campaign to create a prototypical home road trailer fleet has taken a few steps forward this past week.  My fifteen BCR van trailers have been waiting months for some correctly sized dogwood logograms.  Their recent arrival has enabled me to complete decal application on them:



Next up is adding the rear door rods, rear light/step parts, safety placard holders, weathering and final seal coat.


I have also completed decal application on my ten BCR flatdeck trailers:



Next up is adding the wheels, weathering and final seal coat, and creating some interesting loads for them to carry.


Fabrication and preparation of parts for crane idler BCOL 6502 continues with the bolster for the flatdeck end of the car salvaged from a spare Briggs Minibox shell, underframe racks for the blocking lumber made from styrene, and brake appliances from the Briggs Minibox kit:



Probably another week of making parts and then I can commence assembly.

I've had this Fine N-Scale kit in my to-do box for years.  I finally finished it.

Is that a PRR car with NP decals or is it a kit they no longer offer?

A friend sold me his custom cabless Burlington Northern B30-7A. I've wanted one of these for years and planned on building one sometime down the road but I just had to jump on the opportunity. I installed a decoder that night and it runs very nicely! That's about it for me this week.

I think a bigger reason we don't have more double-cab diesels is that they've almost always been designed for multiple-unit operation.  Cabs are expensive, and if there's another unit attached, the second cab isn't much use.  If we'd used more single-unit road diesels we might see more dual-cab models.

Even with electrics, those intended for MU service often had one cab, while those designed to run alone, even if they had MU capability, usually had two.  The MILW EF-1 boxcabs were intended to run as pairs, with a cab on each end, drawbar connected.  The GN's Z-1 class usually ran in pairs, but were designed to be used as single units if needed, so they got two cabs.  The two motors had different wheel arrangements, with the Z-1s having higher tractive effort and lower top speed than the EF-1s, but they were designed for basically the same service.

The NP got those round-roof cars from the DT&I, so they were probably a PRR design.  I also have one, from  the same kit, and if I remember right, it was sold with NP decals.  FNS also has/had a 50 ft version, suitable for the NP, and NOT the same prototype as the MT round-roof car, which is ALSO usable for the NP.  NP/BN modelers got lucky on that one.  The NP had three versions of the round-roof boxes, and we can buy all three.

This one is a modified Micro Engineering kit



This is a old wood kit that was given to me years ago.I have no idea anymore who made it.



Not quite sure what the reason is for the colour difference since they are all painted the same colour and look it in person.
