An E-L U23B? Since it fits my "alternate history" pretty well, I may have to order one...
IMHO the best part is the designation of "Alternate History Paint scheme" on the foobies. Sort of cuts out the "they should have know better debate."
I don't often have a problem with plausible "alternate history" schemes, but an SD24 in SP bugs me. I guess it's from growing up with SP. If they had the resources to buy SD24s in the years it was cataloged (...they didn't...), they would've had the money to also possibly bought more Alcos and kept Alco alive, there wouldn't have been the K-M program, they wouldn't have been so desperate to gorge on SD45s, etc., etc., etc. IOW, at least to me, SP SD24s alter the time line in such a way that would have completely changed the complexion of the railroad in the '60s and '70s. The mind reels.
Has there ever been an explanation as to why we only get two numbers on Master Line cars, while Trainman cars get three? Just curious, and wishing for more numbers on certain PS-1s.
You need to look at the catalog much closer. The Master Pressureaide hopper has 3 numbers as does the Master 25,500 tank, and the Master NSC box car has 4 numbers while the Trainman 40' gondola only has 2.Jason
