So, you get up; fire up the Harley and go for some open road, fresh air and some rail fanning at your favourite spot when all of the sudden the first consist you see has a boxcar with a dragger and soon comes to a grinding halt right in front of you; effectively ending the day of rail fanning at your best spot because the mains will be blocked for several hours while they get this wounded sister back on her pegs..... sigh.... what else can go wrong, are the Leafs playing the Habs tonight or something.....

Puddy-- I love the creativity of the story that you spun to go with the photo.
Best regards,

Roger

Holy crap Jason your right. Looks like I made more work for myself. Not sure why I thought the cab front was white, I've got lots of photos and color guides here in front of me. So use to painting maroon and yellow units I guess I assumed Bankrupt Blue was the same. Thanks for catching that before I was farther along. I owe ya!!
The photo of the loco I've been doing is a straight on side shot so I never noticed it.

Nothing from me this weekend.  Spend all day trying to keep up with this over-achieving snowstorm (expecting 12-18", ended up with nearly 3 FEET ! )  Been sitting here this evening looking at some of the reports and the models leading up to this, just thinking how much more powerful mother nature can be over what we think we know about it.  Having graduated with a meteorology degree and doing forecasting before, I've always been gunshy about such high numbers but I can't believe the sustained snowfall rates I seen today from this storm.  But alas, at this point, I'm just a dumb truck driver

Adam, you certainly could have helped out Channel 8 today.  They only had 4 meteorologists on TV...

They didn't have anybody covering Adams County either!  :D

I went to school with Christine, so I figured Millersville University was represented well enough  :D  Go Marauders !

Ed Weinstock was covering Adams County Friday night, they filled their quota for county coverage and got out of dodge.   :scared:

{thread drift} I forgot you went to Millersville - One of my nieces is a sophomore there.  {end thread drift}

Back on topic, I started painting a group of willmodels pickup trucks this evening.  Wouldn't have known about this company if not for The Railwire!

It's amazing how many people on Railwire have meteorology backgrounds ..    but since I have a face for radio, after I retired from the Navy, I went into computers :) ..

Thanks for the links Allen and aikorob. I couldn't seem to find much for 4522 other than the one I posted. I chose that particular unit for three reasons, one it seemed to be in the Chicago-Joliet-Ottawa area in 1976, it retained the older style Pyle front headlight, and it had a sunshade instead of an all weather cab window on the engineers side at least through '76, though it looks like that had changed by sometime in '77 according to aikorobb's link.

Puddington,
That is a really great "natural" looking pose on that biker. Well done scene.

Very nice - who makes those cars? They look a lot like a CPR Mini box, albeit maybe too long - how long are they?

Nice work kind sir!

Thank you, so very much. These are the new Broadway Limited cars. Pretty nice cars. I did change out the couplers - went the easy route and I put Mchenry's on them.

Thanks again,
Wolf

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Mike,
I really like this scene!! Love the painting of the fascia company colors. Now you need to put a grey stripe down it with some yellow pinstriped edges.  :D
