Joe, MBK has them up on their website, so I would guess they are generally available on the net, and probably at least larger brick and mortar.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

MTL monthly releases seem to take till the middle of the month before they get to the stores. For some reason this coincides with the weathered cars of that month being announced.

BLW seems to get theirs a few days later than MLK.  Plus they usually ship out the pre-orders before listing them on the web site.

Got it on Friday. Nice looking car, even if not correct for PRR. But, it would have been nice for doors to be able to slide open.

Richie, glad you like 'em. Can you do me a favor and measure the actual length so we can put to sleep the various theories of what this car represents, or doesn't?
Thanks, appreciated!

Thank you Richie!
So after all the speculation, now that it's out, is there a consensus on what this car is? Generic, with closest resemblance to L&N horse? Espee? What? Am I missing anything?

I wish Shipsure would chime in on this... not sure why he isn't.  The model is... Generic, with closest resemblance to Espee horse car... unfortunately assumptions were made and they were wrong.  Still a beautiful model, one that I intend to attack in earnest soon to build some converted Pullmans that were rebuilt to baggage - express.  Don't have a need for such a car on my lines as is (can't find proof of such on the prototype lines I am freelancing) but it is a beautiful model.  I just wish Joe would say a bit more.  I probably have said more than I should but then again, if you go back and review what was previously posted you will find the answer already made know.  I just wish I had known more about it before the dies were cut.  Its a shame to have a resource that can be of value sitting on the sidelines when it could have (and should have) been used!!!

I'm not sure how much he's going to say... a good friend of his documented the Arizona car, according to what he originally posted, but somewhere the overall length got missed.  It's either an egg-on-face moment, or they simply chose not to go head to head with the WoT 80' car, and shortened it to 70'.  If the latter, unfortunately they didn't pick a new prototype to mimic.

Either way, yes it's a shame the tooling effort didn't produce a prototype car.

Exactly!!!  Shouldn't "assume" anything... especially when there are people who can help get things right.

... especially when there are people who can help get things right.

I've heard that sentiment echoed many times. And people are willing to give the advice for free.  :?

I received my car and it is nice....
