Max, on the glam photo the side rods are in a not in a very pleasing position.  If the driver counterweights were in 11 through 1 o'clock position the running gear would look more interesting.  Anythgin other than 9 and 3 o'clock. Just saying  . . .  :)

I am speechless.   This is the finest N scale model I've ever seen.
Fabulous job Max.

Thought the classic pose was rods down.

Thought the classic pose was rods down.

So the driver counterweights would then be at 12 o'clock (which is my range of 11 through 1 o'clock).  :)  While rods down is ok, personally I think it is a bit boring. That is why I prefer the 11 or 1 position of the counterweights (which means the crank pin is at 5 or 7 o'clock).

Considering the shiney rods, I decided to try using Neolube cut 50/50 with alcohol.  This does give it a less dark coverage, and I'm glad I heeded your comments.   I do think it looks better this way.  I used it on the rods, crosshead guides, and the tender wheel faces.  You can compare these photos to the earlier ones to see the difference in the rods.  I also got around to taking a nice "glam" shot on the black plexiglas.

Absolutely sublime. A paragon of excellence.

Having the tenacity to take this model to completion is unequaled.

Simply exquisite Max!  The Neolube application was the final touch for sure!

Your work inspires me to a higher standard.

Cheerio!

Max, you have to get on publishing that book documenting this from beginning to end.  I'm sure there are a few  :ashat: here that would buy a copy.

Go to www.blurb.com as I suggested back then.

I like them the way they are in the white-background photo.  I don't know why I didn't pose them like that on the black plexiglas.  When I get a chance, I'll reshoot that one.  The black plexi shots are a real pain to do.  Getting everything positioned just right so there are no obnoxious reflections, and getting rid of all the DUST specks, ugh.

Simply outstanding Max!

Something that I admire is not only the imagineering and sticktuitiveness that went into your project but also your ability to handle the model as more and more detail was applied and it became increasingly and incredibly more delicate.
I just finished a diesel switcher (mere child's play compared to your achievement) and I glued the cab shade back on no fewer than three times.
Well done sir!
