DT400 speed steps in threes

I have an N scale Bachmann 44 tonner that I replaced the factory decoder with a TCS Z2. It runs beautifully and I have independent lighting control with added micro LEDs.

Something I noticed is my DT400 throttles this loco up and down in multiples of three (3,6,9,12 etc.) instead of single increments (1,2,3 etc.)
I have other locos with the same decoder and they move in single increments.
CV 29 is set to 34. (Analog off, normal DoT, Number above128.) CV 61 is at 33. (BEMF on and opposite light dimmed.)

Admittedly, I haven't done much programming for quite awhile and am a bit rusty.
This isn't really a problem but I'm just curious as to what I've set to cause it to do that.

Thanks

Sounds like your decoder's address has been status edited to use 28 speed steps. This means the command station is sending only 28 speed steps instead of extrapolating them to 128.
Check the status of the address by watching the throttle display while selecting the address. Status should be 128. If not, look up the section on "Decoder Status" in the DT400 manual. Make the change to the decoder status by following the manual.

Thanks Martin,
Good call. That's exactly what it was.
