I always wanted to model the LIRR since I grew up there in the 1980s, but finding the Life Like GP38-2 and Atlas C-91 caboose was nearly impossible until the past two weeks.... I also picked up the 3 blue wave C420s from BLW which will allow me to take a look a new direction for that "next" layout.  In the mean time, it might be time to look into replacing the true-track with code 55 or 80 track.

I’m a Long Island boy myself.....my favorite locomotives on my previous N-scale layout were a trio of hi-nose ALCO C420s in the grey & orange LIRR scheme running long hood forward.
