I got two in ATSF, but I'll be in for several BNSF. The details on these models, especially the under-frame rigging, really make them stand out next to the (more common) Red Caboose single-door cars.
Because I've never seen these cars (or their cousins) look so dark....The ones I see look like these:
Lou, you are completely off your rocker. Your eyes are deceiving you. These aren't the droids you're looking for. Nevermind the man behind the curtain. </sarcasm> I know, I know...BLMA's untouchable. I'll shut up now.
You mean after 20 years of sun?
And a light overspray of maroon!
So I guess all of BLMA's test shots, preproduction models, show samples, and artwork were out in the sun too long? That's about the best explanation I've heard so far...I feel much better now. I fully support BLMA painting their cars in as-delivered color. Just, odd that their decision on that came out of left field at the last minute. I could have just not ordered them had that been the picture they were painting all along. And, are you saying the patched BNSF cars *shouldn't* represent sun fade? That level of fade normally takes months, not years. Well, for cars that travel in Texas, NM, AZ, and Cali anyway.
