I got two in ATSF, but I'll be in for several BNSF.  The details on these models, especially the under-frame rigging, really make them stand out next to the (more common) Red Caboose single-door cars.

Same here...   I wish at least there was a run of R/C cars in lighter, redder colors....

Just received my BLMA Bx166's --  (MBK's package took a two week jaunt to San Juan, courtesy of USPS)

wonderful models and faithful to their original paint....

Just one comment....

I sure hope Craig goes several notches LIGHTER for the BNSF restencils and a LOT redder and lighter on the repaints.

Because I've never seen these cars (or their cousins) look so dark....

The ones I see look like these:

Lou, you are completely off your rocker.  Your eyes are deceiving you.   These aren't the droids you're looking for.  Nevermind the man behind the curtain. </sarcasm>

 ;)

I know, I know...BLMA's untouchable.  I'll shut up now.

So I guess all of BLMA's test shots, preproduction models, show samples, and artwork were out in the sun too long?  That's about the best explanation I've heard so far...I feel much better now.   :P :D

I fully support BLMA painting their cars in as-delivered color.    Just, odd that their decision on that came out of left field at the last minute.   I could have just not ordered them had that been the picture they were painting all along.

And, are you saying the patched BNSF cars *shouldn't* represent sun fade?   That level of fade normally takes months, not years.  Well, for cars that travel in Texas, NM, AZ, and Cali anyway.

The current run is what it is...

I hope the target of the NEXT run is what is in the photo I posted!

Red, brown, faded, whatever you want to call it!  :)

You've completely lost me here mate.

I'm saying the released ATSF repaint should be brown as a 90s era fresh repaint, as has been done by BLMA.

I'm sure the recently announced BNSF patches (as opposed to a full repaint) will display the level of detail we have come to appreciate from BLMA. The artwork already shows a color difference between the patch and the car, but maybe you should ask Craig directly as to the extent of that.

The photo Lou posted of ATSF #621357 though is clearly a car with 20 odd years in the sun and naturally won't look like this:
