Man, that's a heck of a traffic accident in front of the brewery...hope nobody was hurt.   :o

The glacial pace of progress continues on the Highlandtown, Canton and Fells Point.  I finally managed to get a base coat on the Gunther Brewing Company. 



The siding will come in from the left, and will run along a trestle next to the building.  I'm going to add facilities for unloading grain hoppers next to the tower, and some loading docks for insulated box cars behind that.  There will truck bays under the trestle.  I'm looking forward to teasing out this complex, compact scene.

We have been prepping and packaging kits for Run #3 of the PRR R50B express reefers.
I think that they'll be ready for another eBay sale at the end of this month.

So today I wired up the layout today and I ran the 2-8-0 around the layout today. Most of it is fine, one small electrical dead spot and a pair of rail joints to smooth out....but it works

I did some troubleshooting, and one of the joints had a little bit of solder on top of the rail, and the other end has a kink in the rail. The 2-8-0 now is able to run through it fine going forward northbound, but derails any other way. I pulled out my L cab SD-40-T2 snoots and they went through without any issues pulling 5 MTL freight cars. Looks like I am going to be doing some trackwork. I already need to lay three sidings and get some ground throws.

Reese you have anymore pics of your layout? That pic looks pretty hott!

None worth showing. This corner is the only part with some kind of scenery, unless you like the look of green foam.  :facepalm:

My SW1 in the spartan PC scheme arrived today. I swapped in brown 1015 couplers in black 2001/2004 boxes. Had to shave the bottom of the pilot opening slightly, maybe .010", and shave down the side partitions behind the pilot to the height of the screw pedestal. Also had to remove the angles from the box and lid to resemble the profile of a 1015 box, and bend the uncoupling rods up slightly to clear the top of the trip pins. Also re-guaged the wheels, which took barely five minutes with the NWSL tool. The unit runs perfectly now through Atlas and handlaid turnouts. If/when Arnold makes the wheelsets available, I will swap out the traction tire wheelsets.

Before you replace the TT wheelset, how many cars can it comfortably pull on the level? Or on a grade? So far, I haven't seen any performance reviews...
I have a 1% plus grade in one of my yards and all my current switchers (VO-1000, NW2, S4) are limited to about 8/9 cars uphill; could use a bit more muscle...
