One has to keep a sense of humor when one is deep into a very tedious and patience-trying task.Four wheels down, two to go.
Lowered this Bowser hopper!Compared with stock:
Can you share how you lowered that very nicely weathered Bowser H21A Josh? File the bolster? Enlarge the hole in the truck bolster? Thank you.Jeff
Cute kid, Jeff. Congratulations. However.... you do realize that introducing golf to anyone under the age of 94 is akin to child-abuse, don't you?
Josh,I'd like to know how you did this also. Thanks,Scott
A meeting in the home office led to some badly needed cleaning... some layout progress may be the ultimate result. Of course, the downside of cleaning is remembering where you stashed everything that was cluttering the desk...Anyway, no immediate modeling work, be we did enjoy a weekend of "research"...Included a nice stop for (almost) lunch with Ed K, Dave Foxx, Ben Snyder and Ryan Lamm... I say almost because the train crew gives you 90 minutes to grab lunch while they spin the loco around, but the clowns in the restaurant we went to felt like 2 hours was more appropriate. We ended up boxing up our order and running down the hill to catch the train back to Cumberland. I don't think Ed's crew ate at all...One fun side trip was to the real Casselman Crossing... Grantsville, Maryland... (it's really US 40 and the old National Road that crosses there). This was a signature scene on my old layout.\I think I did a pretty good job! It's important to note that this was first time I'd laid eyes on the Casselman River other than a brief stop at Confluence in the dead of winter. It sure demonstrates the importance of good reference photos!Lee
