The price of copper is way down...

Yea. Bare-bright is down to $2.05/lb at my usual place. Down from $2.40/lb back in June.

Nice locos!

No photos - but I finally got around to ironing out the last piece of track from the Bufkin's Bayou bridge install - the lead to the Polyolefins plant wasn't sitting right, so I cut it out and relayed it.  Smooth as butter now.

I alos downloaded a switchlist generator designed to run on Mac OS.  So I'm working through populating it - though being able to upload form my inventory spreadsheet would make things a tad easier.

That looks great! When I first saw photos of the prototype, I wanted to make one. Very cool...hope to see you run it some day.

Got some high spots sanded down, and a coat of paint across most of the layout surface to seal the foam insulation board to protect it against rattle can damage (melting from the aerosols) when I paint the track later.   I went about setting up a mini ops session for testing purposes.  I set a loco on programming track to redo the address, zephyr came back d nd a few seconds later and I smelled hot/electrical.  Now I run trains but I can't program anything.  Posted topic in DCC section with help there.

I've been working on the bridge representing the 5th crossing of Tehachapi Creek (just below the loop).

Impressive job on this!  Even without scenery, it's pretty amazing that you've created a layout where it is easy to identify the proto location from the modeled scene!   8)
