Thank you for this info from Kato.  I will cease my whining and just order trucks in advance.  This is what happens when you've worked around various prototype cars for nearly 15 years.

FYI — I touched base with my Kato USA contacts.  They did try to have the correct 41-CDO trucks installed on all the Amtrak models, but Kato Japan didn't want to tool new 41-CDO trucks for the screw-mount Super Chief cars in order to satisfy the small percentage of modelers who know the difference (although you would think that the bolsters and sideframes would be interchangeable).  So the Super Chief tooling is coming with their original 41-CS-11 trucks.  Given how easy it is to swap out the trucks on the lone older car in the set I care about (the diner), I'm not concerned.  All the sleepers, including the Pacific 10-6, have clip-mounts and should have the proper 41-CDO trucks.

What good does an exploded view do when most replacement parts are out of stock or shown as discontinued ? ? ?
