Has anyone heard of or tried Big Dawg Originals?

My FaceBook popped up an ad for this page and I'd never heard of them or of anyone using their products.  But they seem to have an interesting selection of shells in both N and HO.

Hmmm. Yes.  I skipped that because it seemed to be mostly about what mech to use, but on a second reading I do see a couple comments about the shells on Ebay.  Looks like they might be "okay" but not great depending on what you are looking for.

Thanks!

Save your money;     Big dawn casting detail is fairly decent. On the SD38-2 he grafted an Atlas GP38 shell  to a katoSD40-2 shell.  Details are crisp and good.  The negative is the shell was attached to the walkway and cab was cast as a single unit.  When he poured his mold the walkways and cab are were out of alignment by a hair.    It  makes the resulting shell/model look like it has a warped bent frame.    Great work bad execution.     In other words,  save your money based on the two examples that i purchased. :scared:

I've heard more bad than good about his shells.

Also have heard some of the molds have Kato or Atlas part numbers cast into them, so nothing really "original" about his stuff.

I picked up one of his wide nose SD40-2 cabs. It was a little wide for a Kato unit. The quality of the resin casting we so nice I could read the cab number of the Intermountain SD40-2W he cast. I'm not real kosher with casting other people's work.

I'd think that could lead to legal issues down the road too, if he's not careful.
