Sorry for a simplistic topic that many already know well.

I am in N and use the Prodigy Advance, which has quick sets Start Voltage, Acceleration, Deceleration and Top Voltage without CV's.

I have read many of the DCC books, and last night, one seems to say that the settings are relative to or a percentage of the top voltage.

In any event, if anyone can explain the basics, typical settings for each in N, I would appreciate it.

I was going to replay with "RTFM", but I thought it would be considered as an unfriendly response.  But there you go.  ;)

Yeah, turns out Dad was right!  Read the instructions first!  In most cases, the forum is pretty friendly, excepting perhaps product discussion......

Before posting what I knew was an elementary question, I consulted the Kalmbach DCC book, a brit DCC book (which first alerted me the CV's were sort of percentage of max volts) and the MRC website (since I had Prodigy) I used to have Digitrax, and I know they have manuals.  Just, for some reason, never occurred to me to consult the manual on decoders rather than the system.

I got one set of Atlas Geeps re-programmed to my satisfaction this morning.  Of course, I put them on the track and one of the Accumate couplers popped out....on my layout, its always something little going wrong......and 2X if operating with a guest. :|
