I'm surprised no one has posted this.  Got an email this morning from GHB International regarding their brass imported Pennsy L-1 in original and modernized configurations.  Four road numbers in each variation.  $750 MSRP.

Too rich for my blood...still holding out for a pair of BLI M1s.

I'm happy with my GHQ/Kato L1s.  She may not look nearly as nice as the GHB, but she runs like a dream.  She's been earning her keep on my various N scale layouts for over a decade now.

Yeah, it's more than I'm willing to pay. Should be interesting to hear how it runs. I hope it does well.

I will take photos and look at the swiss motor installed

A few standard boiler measurements would be handy Victor, if you are willing! :D

I'm just dying to compare the GHB to the GHQ boiler dimensions.

Wish I could afford one- looking forward to your dissertation.  :ashat:

Going rate at several online retailers seems to be about $650.  For everything the ad says it will be, that seems reasonable for brass when you consider the price some of the later brass engines were bringing, and still bring on ebay.  I speaking of the finer detailed, smaller quantity runs from early 2000's.

Maybe he's still in shock?  :scared:

I'd like to see a photo next to the GHQ version.

in shock is about right.

I have been a bit pre-occupied.

I want to give the GHB L1  a lot of praise.
It is the best running steam brass loco I have ever purchased.

and like almost every n-scale loco I have ever purchased...
it will need some attention.

Frankly, I like it.
From the bottom I can see what looks like a coreless motor
Since it runs like it has a coreless motor, I will assume it is coreless,

I am hoping I will have the time this weekend to sort out
the pick-ups and take a few photos.
