The Spring-2014 issue of TKM has a how-to article on mounting a propeller load on a depressed center flat.  Should be adaptable for well cars.

I've got a nautical propeller roughed out in SolidWorks.  Any idea what the diameter is of both the hub and the blade tip rotation perimeter?  I've got it currently set to 18 scale feet.  The blades are .015" thick, arranged for clockwise rotation.
