Perhaps.  But PRR didn't acquire that style of well car until the 1960s, which was the PK era.  While we will release foob schemes, they will have some basis in reality whenever possible.

I am buying a NYC model for a long haul to the Pacific NW.  The load will be a brass ship's propeller.  I will get it from a Radio Control shop that has RC boats.

The D&H, LV and PC cars all were still active prior to Conrail.  Not sure how quickly the NYC cars were repainted after 1968.  The LV 9955 car eventually got repainted after the merger (into CR 768000), but I don't know how soon.  The PC 768021 l believe never got repainted.  I don't know when the D&H cars were scrapped but all three were operational throughout the 1970s.  It's plausible that any of the three could have traveled over N&W rails at some point in the 1970s.

Any industry with an electric furnace would have to change out a transformer now and then....foundries, steel or pipe mills, alloy plants. A smaller output location would not need a large transformer that would move on those many axle cars.

There could also be refrigeration/air conditioning units being replaced or moving back to Carrier or someone like that for repairs.

I am trying to find an Allis Chalmers car to purchase. None of the usual suspects seem to have them available or are sold out  (MBK, FRT, N Scale Supply, BLW). My mom worked at AC and I really would like to get one of these to honor her memory. Thanks for any leads. I totally missed the reservation window for some reason.
