I've even seen complaints about the prototype not being correct, which is a little hard to figure out, as it's the definition of correct...

When the prototype tries to foob another prototype, then there is plenty of room for criticism.

Don't get me started on IAIS 516.. that thing is just a mess!   The ROCK ISLAND (More of an ISU) unit.

What if the world was perfect and you could get ANY model you wanted that was prototypical and RTR. Would you be happy to run trains immediately, or sad that you can't build/modify/scratch a model?

Ian:  I see your point, but to me, those are 1:1 models, and as such, subject to the same criticisms as our smaller ones.

Closer would be one of the heritage units various roads are doing.  They're lettered for a railroad that no longer exists, are prototypes the road they're lettered for never owned, but are owned and painted by the owner of the original road's name.  Are they a new prototype, and thus correct, or a model of a fallen flag road, and thus a foob?

Do we know if the Custom Model Trains offering will include the MT 4 or 6 axle commonwealth or 6 axle PS truck?  Preference would be for the MT 4 axle commonwealth 41-N variation.

Figures, I go down with a bad cold for a week and something high on my IAIS wish-list comes out!  I'm not worried about the windows so much as the six wheel trucks.  Still, the car couldn't be worse than the foob Henry Posner figure I picked up a while back. (Attachment Link)  All kidding aside, does Micro-Trains offer a business car with that roof for sale?  I've spent the better part of the last hour searching their site and the net for a car with that roofline with no luck.
Thank you,
Mike DeBerg

... The Conrail GP30 at the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum.

It actually is a former Conrail unit, it's just that the decoration is a bit off.

It's like a Walthers paint job...

nice...

Micro-Trains is going to do a run of 25 of the IAIS Business car "Hawkeye". From the conversation on the IAIS Facebook page they will be using the body that they already release and not do the correct windows of the Proto. Does Micro-Train not know what a limited run is suppose to be? Of course this should be expected from the "Foobie" N-Scale company.

Joe,

I hope you saw those of us who defended MTL.

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I know my buddy needs about a dozen of them for his NS OCS train with all the heavyweights in it. I could probably use a couple for the UP cars too.

Attempting to model a modern Southern Pacific based in 2015/2016...

Also, I have a passenger train addiction...
