Atlas ? Looking for Code 55 #10's Still?

Agreed.  That said, be sure to check the point hinges on your Atlas turnouts before you install them.  I've had cases where the retaining grommet falls out and then there is nothing holding the point rail down.  If that happens after you install it, you're pretty much forced to remove the tunout to repair or replace.  It's easy enough to check: just try to gently pry the grommet off with tweezers - it will easily pop off if it's failure prone.  I hope the new turnouts don't have this potential flaw.

Just had an Atlas do that last weekend, though removal is easy still. No idea how to fix. Oh, and it was a new, in the blister pack Flea bay #10. Ironic.

That would of been one of the old ones as there haven't been any #10's made in almost 2.5-3 years. I have had not problems with the new #5 and #7's like i did with the older ones. But i am always on the look out before i install them.

The point I was trying to make is building turnouts would take too much of my limited hobby time. I always way the amount of time it would take me vs finding it already done when i price things out or if i am going to do it or not. At my age time is money no matter how you look at it so i will wait for the #10's and use my hobby time working on building and other things that need to get done.

I think the real point is that you are not interested in building turnouts...which is okay.  All of us have varied interests in the hobby, with some aspects of it taking precedence over other aspects, which is why it attracts such a diverse following.

However, using your time-is-money logic, it costs exactly the same time-wise to do any other aspect of model railroading.  Just running trains, or reading a trade magazine, or writing on a forum ticks off at $100 per hour out of your pocket.  For that matter, it costs the same for you to eat, pull up your pants, brush your teeth, take a shower or anything...because time keeps ticking away costing you 100 bucks per hour. Sleep is really costly at $800 a day....that's $292,000 lost every year not counting getting out of bed, going to the bathroom, choosing what shirt to wear and taking a shower!!  I'd say that's another 45 minutes per day, so that's an additional $27,429.75 out of your pocket!

Holy crap!!  Just writing this has cost me nearly a C-note!!

Time to go and get back to work!!

I checked with the factory - they had to remake a piece of tooling since we didn't approve the prior samples, and they are currently in production.  The should be in the container that ships to us in October.

@Atlas Paul , not to be a pest, but were they in said container? I have finally depleted my strategic supply, and progress is about to run into a roadblock without #10's.

Paul, this completes all the unavailable C55 track right? Will you be adding to the catalog? I would love to see #12 or 14 switches, Concrete flex, #10 single/double switch, angled truss bridges.

There may be a crossing or two that is out, but all of the high volume pieces will now have gone through at least one production run.

We do have some ideas for more items, but we have to fit them into the budget puzzle with all of the other items we have in mind.
