Some may remember a picture I posted where I had begun to heavily modify a Micro-trains cannery building.  Well, I finally have it mostly completed until I can adapt it to a layout at some point.  Here it is.

Wow!
Great structure with some lovely textures.
(Just missing a significant layer of seagull sh!t)
I hope I can rock (non-medical) shingles like that someday!
Thanks for sharing: structures like that get my modeling juices flowing!
Cheers!

beautiful model and diorama, love the decking color as well. only suggestion is a small single step of some sort for that lower floor door.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Yeah, good eye.  That is on the list but the building isn't affixed to the diorama as to prevent any damage when embedded in a permanent layout.

In fact, the plan is to have a lower dock for small craft accessed by a ramp where the break in the Bullrail is located.
I'll put in some more piling but the dock will extend beyond the edge of the diorama.

Thank you to all for the positive comments.

Love the water texture on the cannery diorama and the very very nice weathering on that gon!  The journal highlighting is just excellent.

Finished a few things this week...

1) at lonnngggggg last the Celgar pulp mill is complete (well complete enough for me anyway)

2) I finished the small pile trestle for the Slocan valley.  Building it on a slide out piece of cardboard made it easier to detail around the pilings.  I hope to get to the remainder of the scenery in a few weeks.

and 3) I shot a second sound test video this one featuring David Yip's conversion of one of the C Liner A units.

Next week is op week on the C&W so all hobby time is likely to go into preparing for that!

Have a great weekend.

After fixing the turnout last week I ran trains to find the other turnout I thought was fine, wasn't. The rail bent out so far the gauge was too wide and wheels would fall. So I slit the rail right over a PC tie and held it in place for soldering. Seemed to work, trains are running again  :)

I'd just like to chime in and say that Killashandra's trackwork is still as immaculate as ever.
It lives in the studio extension of the house, which fluctuates in temperature at least once or twice on a daily basis, and all is well!

I love it Chris is using the pins from Wally World for a buck or two compared to the WS T Pins that are now selling for 5.00 bucks at the LHS. I am going to do a tutorial on modeling on a budget soon. This will be in it. Just learned to buy styrene at Wal Mart. The "for sale" signs have different thicknesses and cheaper than Evergreen or Plastruct. If you have any other money saving ideas you've learned, please PM me. Off to Estes Park show today and Valentine's Day dinner in Loveland, 39th anniversary.

Bryan - that cannery turned out fantastic!  The pilings, decking, shingles, all looks great!

Mark - really like the pulp mill scene.  The thing that most strikes me (other than the structures, lighting, backdrop, etc) is that you allocated enough room for an industry that large so that it doesn't look like it's been squeezed into a way too small space.  The huge paved area, inclusion of parking lots, and adequate space for trucks to turn around is not something you often see from our HO brothers!
