I like the Orange and gray thrown in for good mix.  I would figure a small switcher like this might last longer in the older scheme than more powerful equipment.  My guess is lot of MR fans grab one or two because it may 3-5 years before the orange and black scheme is done.  I see this model like the GP7/9 runs!

I'd be more likely to buy an undec and paint it myself. I know a lot of Milwaukee modelers and the majority model the orange and black era.

I personally will buy undecs for WP. But would be nice to see the first run on the shelves before a 2 run announcement.

There are hundreds of road names on these, and probably more than a thousand paint schemes.  We can't do them all at once.  We generally try to spread things around geographically, as well as mix large railroads with smaller ones.  There will probably be a run of these in each catalog for the near future.

Thanks Paul. I think most of us totally understand your point of view and defer to your years of experience in striving to run a profitable business. These discussions of road names are just typical topics whenever new releases are announced.  I hope that this model is a big success for Atlas and that you consider developing additional N scale switchers in the future.

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Do you know when the first run is expected?

We have received the deco samples, and the sound decoders are due to the factory this week, so I would hope they ship to us in the next couple of weeks.

Agree.  Atlas will be doing runs of these from now until the end of time to cover all the paint schemes.  Even if they did four runs per year with ten schemes per run, it would take 25 years to get to all of them.  Maybe that should be a collection goal - get one of every Atlas S-2 produced until they stop!

This is great news!
So, one question I have, is their plans for a NP decorated one? if so, I'll hold off on buying an undec. lol
