So I've been lacking on progress updates lately, but that's because I've been busy in the basement. We'll head east from Hanover towards Gettysburg.
First up coming out of the yet to be built helix, you'll cross Elm St (just over right shoulder) and come into Elm St Siding. Just around the bend is Kindig Lane and home to the Utz Potato Chip factory. Around the next bend is Radio Rd and the end of the passing/storage siding and leads into the quarry and "New" siding, where D797 drops empty hoppers from their pick up at AgCom to head back west.
Around the bends is the Vulcan wye, leading into the quarry, the main line and "New" siding. The curve isn't as tight as photo shows, different shot from the camera.
Next shows the UL for this side, with AgCom, DalTile and Morton Buildings in far distance (yellow centerbeam). Further back you can see the Vulcan quarry.
AgCom is just long enough that I can unload the first car
And using the tail track, the last car on each siding.
And I got the first level of the helix started.
Still need to lay the approaches to the helix but that will wait until I get that built to see where the most comfortable angles to come in will be. I have it drawn on paper but we all know how that goes.
