Oh, there is. A blank canvas and a snow day!

Can't wait to see what Adam gets done today.

Unfortunately not as much as I had hoped, illness bug knocked me out for a couple hours this morning.  And now the driveway is calling to be cleared before the rains move back in.

Now we're really digging deep here.  A friend suggested doing the ceiling while I'm in this rebuild phase.  Initially thought sheetrock but I have too many pipes and electrical connections to worry about having access to so now the thought is to go with drop ceiling.  And with that, what do I do about lighting ?  Track ? LED shop lights ?  What are my options ?

I used clips that are used for track lights, attached these to the T bars, and then installed 4 foot long LED lights.  This worked out nicely. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Only 1 day available to work on the layout this weekend due to mid-week snowstorm.  I was able to get benchwork up on both sides of the wall today, foam cut and glued into place.

First up is the new Hagerstown Yard.  Started messing around with the west yard ladder.  Old yard had 6 tracks, I'm hoping for at least 8 on this version, maybe an additional track on the old caboose (now power) tracks and room to model the Burnham St underpass and yard office.

Coming around the corner will still be Security.  I little wider so I will have some space between the plant tracks and mainline.  Maybe some room for plant buildings, while main plant will be backdrop material.

Flip to the other side of the wall, coming out of Porters will be new addition of Smiths Siding.  Interchange with YorkRail.

Make the turn and you'll now find Center St yard facility.  This is where the power for the sub sits when not in use.  I should be able to make it slightly longer than I drawn it out, and put a bump out to include the engine house done by Medford Trains.  Even though it was torn down before my modeling time, this kit was too good to pass on and will look great regardless.  Pinch point here will probably be 26-28" wide aisle.

Come out of Center St and you'll find the Ma&Pa/PRR diamond and siding leading to Sunoco Plastics (behind/left of photo).

I know you know what you're doing but watch the turnout geometry of your drawn cardboard plan.
I used to make photocopies of the turnouts I was using, be they Atlas or PECO and use them to be sure what I had planned was going to work.

Yep, the cardboard was just a kind of "can this work out?"  using the original benchwork.  I've gotten a couple extra inches in most sections so I've got some more room to work.

I'm guessing they're similar to a Henway. Or a Greek urn.

Point of order.  It's Burhans Blvd.
Now go up to the blackboard and write it correctly 100 times.  And yes, you must spell out "Boulevard"

PS... I wonder whatever became of this?  It ended up in the hands of one of my crew, but I can't recall which one.

@eric220 has it.  I'm not sure of its current status, though, considering he tore down his layout when he moved.

The new layout sections seem to be coming along well! I hate to be that guy though, but a quick clarification; the plastics business is spelled sOnoco, not sUnoco. I interned with their rigid can and end enclosure division in Cincinnati one summer. They were originally called the Southern Novelty Company and made paperboard cones for the textile industry; later on, they shortened their name to Sonoco, using the first two letters from each word of their old name. Believe me, there was an issue more than once with a vendor or customer employee spelling the email like the gas station and not the packaging company!

Otto K.

These wonderful things from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Barrina-Integrated-Fixture-Utility-Electric/dp/B07DNPL2VC/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1551119268&sr=8-7&keywords=led%2Blights&th=1

They've turned my basement from a seedy bar into a grow house for <$100. They're incredibly easy to install and can be powered from the mains or outlets.

I've been calling them "Betz Lights" in honor of @DeltaBravo who turned me onto them.
